Ride with coach

Your coach, in your ear. During your activity.

Like a pro coach in the team car, it rides the whole thing with you. It paces every effort, tells you when to eat, calls each climb before you reach it, and talks you through the parts that hurt.

Climb ahead· Mile 18

Climb in a quarter mile: 1.2 miles at 7%. Settle in at 260 watts, right on your threshold, and stay seated through the bend. Then let it go over the top.

Nobody asked. It saw the climb coming.

Get the highlights.

  1. Hey coach

    Ask without breaking stride.

Hands stay on the bars. Just say “Hey coach,” and keep pedalling.

    Listening for “Hey coach”

You asked: Hey coach, how far to the top?

Just over half a mile. Hold two-sixty. It eases after the bend.

  2. Intervals

    Every interval, called.

Ten seconds' warning, then the target. No looking down to check.

  3. Climbs

Never get caught out by a climb.

You hear what's coming and how to ride it, well before the road kicks up.

    Climb in 0.5 mi · 1.4 mi at 6%

A mile and a half at six percent. Sit at two-sixty and let the top come to you.

  4. Lock screen

Your phone stays in your pocket.

Lock it and ride. The numbers and the coach's last word wait on the lock screen.

  5. Music

    Your playlist stays on.

The coach talks over your playlist. Nothing pauses, nothing skips.

    “Ten seconds. Second block, two-fifty.”

    Your playlist

The road tips up and your breathing gets loud. Ask how far to the top, how hard to push, or whether to skip the last rep, and the answer is right there in your ear. Or say nothing at all. Your coach speaks up on its own along the way: the next interval, the climb ahead, a nudge to eat, and a steady word when it starts to hurt.

Coach calls

Skip the typing. Just call your coach.

On the couch after a hard week, or ten minutes before the group ride rolls out. Call your coach and talk it through, the way you would with someone who's watched every ride you've done.

Say it however you'd say it. Your words show up as you speak. A moment later, so does the answer, out loud.

On the ride

A coach in your ear. From the first pedal stroke to the last.

Start a ride on your iPhone and your coach comes along. It knows your plan and reads your sensors. It calls every interval and every climb, reminds you to eat, and answers whenever you say “Hey coach.”

  1. Rolling out

A quick hello, and the plan for the ride.

  2. Intervals

A heads-up ten seconds before each one, then the target.

  3. Climbs

What's coming up, and how to ride it.

  4. Hey coach

Ask anything. Your hands stay on the bars.

  5. Fuel

A nudge to eat, before you need to.

  6. Personal bests

It notices when you've done something special.

  7. Wrap-up

A last word on the way home.

In your ear

Morning. Fifteen easy to start, then two tempo blocks. I'll keep quiet while it's going well.

Headphones

Keep your playlist on. The coach fits right in.

Your music keeps playing while the coach talks. No pausing, no skipped tracks. And it's listening for “Hey coach” the whole way, through your headphones or your phone.

“Ten seconds. Second block, two-fifty.”

Your playlist

Lock screen

No need to unlock. Your ride is right on the lock screen.

Heart rate, power, the time, your current interval and the coach's last words, all in the Dynamic Island and on your lock screen. Pause, talk or end the ride with a single press.

The whole ride, locked. Unlocked, press and hold the Island and it opens to the same ride, with Pause, Talk and End.

Your call

Hear as much as you like. Or as little.

There are 14 kinds of call, from intervals and climbs to fuel and personal bests, and each one has its own switch. Turn them all off and your coach only speaks when you ask. Or just tell it: “No more climb calls.” “Quiet for ten minutes.”

Time to eat, on a schedule
